My scholarly interests broadly involve the social psychological study of emotions and morality. In particular, I study the motivations underlying people sense of morality (e.g., Janoff-Bulman, Sheikh, & Hepp, 2009, JPSP), differences between moral emotions (e.g., shame and guilt, see Sheikh & Janoff-Bulman, 2010, PSPB) and relational influences on morality (e.g., parental nurturance and restrictiveness, Sheikh & Janoff-Bulman, in press; JPSP).
My ongoing research is focused on studying these complex psychological phenomena as they arise in particular social and cultural contexts. Please see my publications for more information.
